Not too shabby of an install ;)

Those speakers kind of limit the cargo capacity of your car don't they?

You don't need space?

yeah, its a huge box, but i dont need space.

i took my dad to home dept and the back seats were good enough... if i were to need any more room and i might as well gotten a truck. but if ima take my car on a trip, i would just take the box out, all i have to do it remove 2 speaker wires and thats all. all in all im sooo stoked on how it tunred out =]

they are sitting behind the kit, i was just too lazy to cut out a spot for them. they still work just like normal, but i rarely use them so ill just wait it out for a while, or till im really bored one day haha. but ya all i need to cut the rectangle and it would be in that extra space above the radio

I see that the clock is still showing in the display above. How do you set the time? I thought that was done in the radio.

the clock power source is independent from the radio...

if you have your clock set to the correct time, the clock will not change at all even if the radio is removed. the ONLY reason you would need to adjust the clock is if you happen to disconnect it completely and it struck 12:00 all the time or somn like that. but as you can see in the pictures its working like its supposed to

Any possibility that the button for the clock/set from the radio could be reused? just cut a hole in that trim panel and install (the same way you will for the hazard light switch)????

So the clock works but there is no way to adjust it, for daylight savings time for example? Or if it drifts over time.

i used abs plastic for the dash face. And as far as the steering controls, i need to buy an adapter from Metra to make it work. i beleive its just a plug that you tap into the radio harness and it should work fine, if i decide to get it ill let you know how that turn out.

if im going to need to adjust it, i could make a similar mount that i would for the hazard switch or i could plug the stock radio back it and change it. that only would take at most 5 min to do its really easy to remove the trim dash and radio.

there no emergency light button, that is a must isnt it. lol my first post after like 3 months, but i joined to look at the pics, im a car lover and i cant get this beloved car because of my other beloved car the mazda5.

looks really nice, if it was glossy like the piano black on the touring model, it would be really nice but then you have a sport, so that would bt the only piano black plastic.

WOW your car is like super glossy and shiny, looks like chrome haha, my mazda5 is black and now there so much circle scratch and want to take it get a professional detail but then we use it as cargo half the time whihc damages the paint. i wish i have a bumper step plate.

the kit WAS gonna be different but i did the whole install in one sitting and i was too hungry to go any further. its been a lil since ive installed it, and i havnt had the need to use the hazzard lights lol. SO, i took care of the other insalls instead that are on the list.

Hey, I noticed that you had huge subs, I also have 2 12inch Dual bandpass subs in my CX-7, But I'm having a problem with the rear hatch latch, when the music gets pumped up, on certain tracks like Buy U A Drank(very bassey and the subs it really hard) the hatch unlatches, not completely but it unlatches. I have taken it to two different dealers and they said there was nothing wrong with the latch, Next time I Stop in, they will be replacing it weather they like it or not. Have you experienced the same thing?

i havnt experienced that with my subs at all. thats sounds like somn that should be replaced by the dealership b/c its hard to imagine the subs will cause that by itself. the only thing i had was that the trunk/hatch rattled. to solve that, i put dynomatt on the hatch and removed the rear windshield wiper. i have NO rattles whatsoever. and i think it looks way sick with it off

i mean the steering wheel control, isnt that on the factory installed stereo you can control the volume, mode, mute, change the track on the steering wheel, so can you still do that after the aftermarket stereo?

Yes you still can, you just need to buy the PAC SWI-X adapter to control the radio through the steering wheel controls.
