I have a cx-7 with 5500 miles on it. Tomorrow it goes to the dealer because both front tires are bald. anyone else ever have anything like that? I am expecting new tires and alignment.

Funny. I just got a flat from front right tire. I've only got 3000 miles on it. I didn't take it to the Mazda dealer, just a tire store. I wonder if I made a mistake..

WOW! You must be running hard.. :) Sounds like a defect to me. Even if you were "hot rodding" all the time, tires should not be bald at 5,500 miles. You know, I test drove a CX-7 w/200 miles on it and the front tires were beginning to cup. I pointed it out to the dealer and he put the car in the shop for an alignment and a new set of tires.

My last vehicle (Volvo) had soft compound Pirelli's...they wore out at 34,000 km's but were only rated at 45k. Pretty annoying since the dealer said nothing about it at purchase.

This CX-7 has Bridgestones and hope they last 70-80k!?

Dealers are generally pretty good with warranty tire issues so book it in...

All I can say is:

You need to run the proper tire pressures
You need to learn to take corners better and not to dive into understeer scrubbing your tires off
If a FWD model do you like laying scratch?
Slow down?

5,000 miles.... I get that much on my sticky motorcycle track tires....

We have 11K on ours, still has tread, unfortunately. Looking for aftermarket wheels and tires once they wear out...I think tire pressure is key. Rotation too. Every 3K miles I rotate them.

5500 miles and tires still look great on mine.

Everyone seems to be reporting bad mileage and tires. I have neither. Everyone move to Florida!
