Is a pre-wax cleaner important or useful?

I take care of my cars, and this is the normal monthly routine I perform on the exterior of my cars.


Wash, Leave wet
Polish using mild abbrasive compounds
Wash, Dry
Shine with 3M glaze
Wax with Black Magic liquid wax


I do everything by hand too, takes me about two hours per car.

I remove scratches, swirls, stains, and other stuff by polishing by hand easily enough. Although you need to have strong arms and shoulders do be doing several cars on a lazy sunday morning by hand. :)
