OK everyone,we could use some input. We want to make sure our forum remains on the top of the list when it comes to a quality CX-7 forum for owners, by owners of CX-7s.
Is there anything you love/hate, want to see, want to have removed, layout change ideas, or just "Leave it alone, it is fine!!"
Thanks for your input in advance!

Overall a great forum, but just a few sugesstions,
1) Possibly re-arrange the forum layout. For example, the main forums, with sub forums can get really confusing to the point I just click the new posts button to find my way around.
2) Maybe a new color scheme?
That's the only things I can think of. And the forum is a lot faster now! Thanks!

Those 2 things are what I am thinking of right now. The column on the right I am not a fan of. making the subforums will be pretty easy to set up properly.

i agree with the difficulty in forum subfolders, its somewhat mixed up when trying to view new posts under each category... although i prefer using the new post tab now..

A good photo gallery. Something solid like "PhotoPost PHP", Coppermine etc. These both integrate well into vBulletin.
Consider the new release of vBulletin's blog. Pretty cheap, and maybe a lot of fun.!!

I am going to be taking all these suggestions to Nick, the owner. I do not have all the powers needed to make some changes, so I am compiling a list.
#1, making the forum faster than in a long time, has been done though. Nick was 100% behind that, with a server upgrade.

How do the View counts work? They seem to always be one up from the post count.

If there is a thread with 30 views, and 2 posts, it means 30 people looked at it, but only 2 posted responses. Is that what you meant?

I just noticed a new thing that could be improved. When someone puts a link into their post, it looks the same as all the rest of the text. You only know its a link when you move your mouse over it and it becomes underlined. Maybe making the link a different color would make it eaiser to see.

Agreed. I'm beginning to get into the habit of explicitly mentioning the "so and so text is a link" type of labelling.
An FAQ or General Guide please. . .
At this point in time, we've gotten some really good articles on the CX-7. Maybe it's time for someone to dive in and compile an FAQ or General CX-7 guide that points to the specific thread topics for various info. It would make a good general starting point, especially for new users.

I'll make the FAQ, that's the type of thing I like to do :D

The big threads can be "stickied".

I meant like they seem to not work, they are always 1 up from the replies. Are they supposed to work like that?

Yup.
Working on the hyperlink color. We are using custom colors, and that is causing the problem.

Is it possible to have a sticky that lists the current software/firmware levels for the various systems? And the TSB that relates to those levels.
Thanks.

We would need the data, and then yes, we can. If you can get it you can post it up, and we will sticky it.

When you select "new posts", it only shows posts since the last time you were here. If you only log in once a day, that's not an issue, but it would be nice to have a running list of "recent posts" for the past 24 hours. As it is now, you can only select that if there are not any new posts since your last visit.

Go to Quicklinks located in the top right. Select "today's posts".

I would like the option to change the "Registered Users" under our names to something more favorable.
Any updates on changing the interface to something more legible?

I am right there with you. I am working with the owner to see about revamping the look, and eliminating that side menu, and going to something like mazdas247.com but not that color.

Guys, too many acronymns.
Some newcomers don't understand BOV COI BPV at first.
Good learning curve though.

There should be a link to the FAQ on every page with a "what does this mean?, TSB's?," etc.. right under it so people know what it is.

It has been requested, all issues with the new forum be posted in the feedback thread for the changes. I am moving the existing posts about the new change here over there.
