Someone on another board has installed a FMIC, it was custom as far as I know, and I think the CP-E FMIC would not fit.

It will not fit, different assemblies all together. I have not seen a FMIC yet that yields the 20whp gains like the ETC TMIC did on a Speed3. We have had one for going on 9 months and it is awesome, and no heat soak. Drive it, stop, get out, pop hood, take off plastic cover, and place a bare hand on it. That is a big difference than the factory, you will scorch your palm.

WoW...well i saw the one on the mazda boards..and it was all custom as far as i know.. but that fmic looks to small..if i upgrade to the ETC TMIC will i see power gains in the same range..or how bout yours did it give you a good diffrence in power

Yes, noticeable gains immediately! It is amazing. I even told Tom Hughes at ETS how happy we are with it!

If I had to choose between my ETS TMIC and my CPE CAI, I don't know which way I would go...that would be a terrible thing to have to do. I got both Mods done at the same time, lucky me...I know it, believe me I do...I know how lucky I am. Soooo, let me think about it for a moment. I guess it would be the TMIC that I'd choose 1st even though it's 2X as expensive as the CPE CAI.

Raider is correct. Go for a long, hot run in my CX-7. Drive it hard, pull over to the curb in a safe place, pop the hood, dispense with the TMIC cover, then put your hand on that ETS TMIC and guess what? It's virtually COOL to the touch! I am not kidding, it's that good,

ETS really knows their stuff. What a great company they are, all the guys and gals up there in Washington state doing their thing! To think that some big company hasn't bought them up and commercialized their product yet...that's such a good thing. I've also sent them an email about my TMIC, loaded with lots of praise and genuine thanks. This item is such a change from that hot, thin, inefficient Mazda OEM TMIC! Don't EVER try to touch the stock TMIC after a speed run, or any other time for that matter...you will get seriously burned.

I really don't know the background of the company, whether they're a bunch of engineers or whatever, but somebody there certainly knows a TON about making TMIC's! It's so elegant, and simple, and has such excellent flow characteristics. I'm surprised that they haven't patented their designs. I would if I owned the company.

I get more compliments about that TMIC than any other thing about my CX-7 except the wheels, which are just crazy beautiful (if you like 22"'s in chrome!), but as far as under-hood stuff goes, that shiny bright alloy TMIC is just so striking, so huge, so audacious and beautiful in all its aluminum glory!

Power gains? Torque gains? Efficiency gains? Cooling gains? You betcha! And add to that perhaps something else that we don't read a lot about: better gas mileage too. Yes, I think that I get better mileage out of a gallon of gasoline with the ETS TMIC installed than without it. It must be true, because I could never get the kind of mileage I'm getting today with the stock induction system. The 1st 5 months I owned my CX-7 I got miserable mileage. The combo of the ETS TMIC, the CPE CAI, and the TurboSmart BOV has yielded 15-20% better gas mileage for me, city and highway combined...something I really didn't think was possible, but it happened.

Extreme Turbo Systems, Inc., thank you so very, very much!

Sorry jonny, I just got too excited writing about the ETS TMIC. I edited it down a bit now, so my testimonial is less, well...demanding.

Get one for your CX-7 and you'll feel the same way.
