I'm looking into getting the Pioneer Z1 installed into my CX-7 but can find nothing about anyone doing this already...

Has anyone here installed this unit or another nav unit into their CX-7?

Anyone had rear-seat screen(s) put in?

Anyone have a backup camera installed?

Anyone?

I know you must be out there...;)

I'm gathering info and thinking about it... I'm looking at pulling out my tech-package system (I know, I know) and putting in the Alpine IVA-W200 instead. Apparently Alpine is going to have dash kits for the CX-7 in the next two weeks.

Plan would be to get navigation w/live traffic reporting, bluetooth, rear-view camera (hooked into existing camera from tech package), iPod and Satellite radio.

I'll keep you posted if you'd like ;)

The audio pro I'm dealing with told me that his Alpine Rep said it would be real soon, like "within the next two weeks" -- I haven't touched based with him since last week, so I don't know that absolute latest update he has. Could be just the way it was phrased... might just mean where ever it's coming from, it will be soon, and it was the Alpine Rep who said so.

I don't think Alpine\\\\ Itself makes kits.

I know Scoche has mentioned they have a kit coming out within the next few weeks

That kit will not fit a CX-7 GT. I'm also interested in double-din kits, not single.

I replaced all my audio system. Made a dash kit with mdf and abs. Polk audio speakers, dB drive amps.

You can see it all here.

No offense dude, but I'm really not impressed with how that looks at all. The audio pro I'm working with will make me a dash kit if I want, but he really would like me to wait for an official release... and right now I agree. If it drags out too long, we'll go the custom route.

I also am going double-din, not single din.

Non taken. I'm not impressed either, but if you could hear it, I bet you wouldn't mind. I did it because I wanted to have more options (mp3, satellite radio). The install shop near my home wanted 200 dlls for the custom install, so I decided to save me a couple hundred dollars and do it myself. Once the dash kit comes out, I will be changing it inmediatly.
