Has anyone had their O2 Sensor replaced yet? The car will hesitate under accelleration. Almost as if someone is tapping the brake. This happens in all gears. If you give it very light throttle it wont do it. I had the sensor replaced the first time in December. It started doing it again the other day. Also have the P2006 code for the intake runner. It is at the dealership now waiting for the part AGAIN. This time they are saying they are back ordered. Should have the part by the 19th! The first time this happend it took my dealership and Mazda techs. over a week to figure out what was even wrong with it!

The tech also mentioned a possible design flaw in the oxygen sensor. He said that at startup it sends alot of voltage to the sensor to warm it up quick. In cold weather this causes condensation to form and crack the sensor.

Had to wait 2 weeks to get the O2 sensor put back in mine. Check out my problem in this catagory for transfer case replacement. I have noticed though since they installed the new sensor after replacing the transfer case that it doesn't seem to have the power it had at lower rpm's. It used to kick your ass back in the seat when the turbo kicked in, now it doesn't. It as if they de-tuned the engine when it was in last.

I had the exact same problem this past weekend. Took the car in on Monday and they said it was the O2 sensor. They ordered the part and said it will be in on Wednesday.
Chris-Did your part come in? Do you have the car back? How is it running?

No not yet. The O2 sensor is not suppose to be in until next Monday the 26th! I hope they do get the part for you by Wednesday. Don't be surprised if they don't get it.

Your lucky they figured out what was wrong so quick. I swear I was the first one to get the problem back in December. It took almost a week for the dealership and Mazda to figure out that it was the O2 sensor.

You were right. My sensor did not come in until 2/26. I am picking the car up tonight. Have they done your car yet?

im very interested to hear the outcome of this. i told the tech about the shuddering when i was accellerating up a hill and he said he would flash it. they did, but i swear that it does feel like someone is still tapping the brake. id like to see what happens here...

Got mine back on Tuesday and it is running great. They reflashed the PCM and TCM as well as putting in the new O2 Sensor. My car was stuttering so bad upon acceleration there was no way you could miss it. It seemed to come out of nowhere...one day it was running fine and the next morning I had the problem. I'm surprised they would even give the car back to you if it was performing like mine.

I also got mine back on the 26th. This batch of sensors were released on Fridady the 23rd. Everything is running good so far. I will have to give it a month or two before I am conviced that they solved the problem. They also flashed the PCM again.

mine was doing the same thing. i took it in on a monday morning, and they called me 2 hours later with it fixed. said they had the part for another car, but used it on mine. not sure why, but i'm not complainin'. mine felt like the turbo had gone out. good as new after the fix.

I picked up car from the dealer yesterday and they didn't know how to handle the sensor issue and were waiting to hear from Mazda tech support. Today I got a call and they claim they just got a bulletin and the fix is to put in a stronger spring in the sensor. Does this sound right?

not sure on the bulletin. my paperwork states they "replaced IMRC valve F0611XRX .3" it was explained to me that some valve was stuck open, causing the turbo to not spool.

That is the intake manifold runner control valve (IMRC). Their is a TSB for it (cold weather problems). I had that and the O2 sensor problem.

Had the same problem with my O2 sensor. Told me it would not ship until 19 Mar. Spoke with the general manager and they pulled a 7 offline and took the O2 sensor out and put it in my 7...runs great now.
On another note, I have a great dealership and a great technician, He diagnosed the car within 1 hour and had Mazda on the phone because it doesn't show a code when it's defective. Mazda had him disconnect the sensor and then drive the vehicle--no hesitation or stall (it's the upstream O2 sensor). Mazda asked for data to ensure that I wasn't running regular gas (seems that will cause the same problem.) The technician at the dealership is a great guy and is willing to talk with you in technical terms; go over all the TSBs (pulls them up on the computer to show you the details, etc..). He might do that with me because I'm an old Mazda ASE guy (R100, RX2, 3, 4) and he likes to talk tech. But I'm willing to bet he will do that with all customers. And as you know, a good tech is extremely hard to find.
