Sorry but I just read a thread about a street race and saw that it was closed. Almost every forum that I have been a part of has a "Kill Thread". Now I know its stupid and pointless to street race but cmon, I'd say about 90% of us are guilty of it. So whats the harm in posting about a street race? I'm curious to see how our cars stack up against the competition so I find it interesting to read about a street race.
Are we that strict on this forum?

And I apologize in advance if I offended anyone.

To be honest, I think this is the first time that issue has ever come up.

rx8 club and georgia rx8 club actually have very strict policies about no street racing, and it is one that i strongly agree with.

+1 Just not something that we ever really get into. It's usually a recipe for a lot of drama anyway:

"No way a CX-7 can beat ________"
"That guy definitely wasn't trying to race",
"A good driver in that car wouldn't have lost"
etc., etc.

The less drama, the better, I say...

I am not offended, and nobody should feel that way.

The reason it is not going to be allowed here is that it is illegal. Period.

I personally have lost more than 1 friend due to it. One was killed by them, one was participating and lost control. It can be a liability if a forum has been shown to essentially allow or promote it. Mazdas247.com is one of the biggest, and allowed it. Late last year, it was shut down for liability reasons.

I have taken the preemptive approach to just not it here. If there are other forums for street racing that are allowed, go there.

I think the vast majority of our membership is more mature than that of the kids that go out and race on the street. It is not safe, it is not legal. Take it to the track.

besides, posting about street kills is nothing. There is no proof unless there is a video, and those can simply be found on youtube, along with all the wrecks and innocent people being injured and/or killed.

I completely understand. Like I said, this is the first time I've seen the restriction on a forum. No biggie, I for one do not streetrace anymore nor will I ever unless its on a track. I guess hearing about a streetrace brought back memories and I found it interesting to read about. But I agree, street racing is highly unsafe and people do die from it. Just not worth it.

Again sorry if I ruffled anyone's feathers but this is one thing you'll learn about me. I tend to speak my mind but I try and do it with the utmost respect.

I appreciate your post. If you ever have a question, you are to feel free to post and ask questions. I will let this thread remain open for now, so people can voice opinions and such. As long as it is civil, it will be open.

Thank you for your understanding.
