Hi, has anyone done the PCM flash upgrade in Canada for the turbo lag fix ?

I went to my dealer last week and they said that flash is only available in the US currently, if that's true, it really sucks:mad:

Ah, get your dealer to talk to Mazda Canada as I had the update done on January 25th, 2007! So what dealer is this if I may ask?

By the way, the update dramatically improved the turbo lag & is much easier to drive, especially in first to second gear.

Thanks ! So you're located in Alberta eh ? If yours done which means it is available in Canada, I may just ask them to check again.

It is a Mazda only dealer located in Port Moody, BC.

xenz,

Yes please ask your dealer to check again, the item was listed on my service invoice as: "F0010XFX Powertrain Control Module - Reflashing", so ask for this update. I too am dealing with a Mazda only dealer in Edmonton AB: WEBER MOTORS. They have been great to me, with this vehicle and my previous Mazda 3.

In the USA, I have read the update to be: "XXB472FX SB 01--46/06 MIL/DRIVEABILITY PCM @ TCM FLASH".

MZCX7AB,
thanks for your help ! I have to bring mine back to the dealer because of the CEL came on, and I had printed out your previous reply with the op code and gave to the service advisor. In the end, they had flashed the PCM and TCM but in the service invoice they marked down the XXB472FX (US code?) instead of your F0010XFX.

Immediately I felt the difference when I drive off the service area, it's so responsive and much more power in lower RPM. Now I can finally enjoy the automatic transmission (been using manual shift since I first got it as I felt it lack of power with auto).

thankyou thankyou !

hey guys,

I just bought a black CX-7, picking up Monday (Whitby Mazda, ON - amazing dealer, by the way). I read alot about this flash upgrade, and it sounded like picking one up that was built after Dec '06 would likely help make sure I had one that didn't have a turbo lag issue. How did you guys figure you had a problem and that it wasn't just that the car's charactestics included poor low-rpm power?

THis is the only thing I'm nervous about. Thanks for any advice you may have!

I read the information on forums like this one. If you want to confirm if your CX-7 has had the update, just ask your sales person to get it confirmed for you!

Happy driving!
