Hello,
My name is Eric. My wife and I own a 2007 CX-7. Had it since August 2006, and have about 11,000 miles on it. I have a Speed3, but since this is a CX-7 forum, I shall not bore ya with that. I have been modding Mazdas since my 2002.5 Protege5, and when I got my Speed3, I know I was gonna mod it. Well, that spread to my wife, who now has from Street Unit, a CPE CAI and ETS TMIC. (Its her car on the SU website) On order is the intercooler hoses, a TurboSmart BOV, and a motor mount. That is the plans for now, I am sure we will do more as they come out. If it matters, my wife did the installation of both the intake and the TMIC. I only assisted in cases of needing a taller person, or needing brute strength.
Well, here are the pics, more to come! The CX-7 will be on display in the Mazda Corral at the 12 hours of Sebring in March 2007.

hi Raider, just wanna know how was the improvement in terms of power?
Did the modifications also affected the gas milage? :)

Our mileage took a dump the first 100 miles or so, but that is because we reset the ECU after each modification. We still get 22-24 mpg. We use Mobile 1 synthetic every 3K miles, new filter cartridge each time. Prefer to run Shell 93 Octane, too.
The power gains have not been dyno tested by us, but we both feel it, especially merging on the freeway. She keeps up with my in my speed3 when on our way to work, and I do not have a TMIC. CPE dyno'd the CAI at 20 or so, and the TMIC I believe was tested at the 20's as well, but not by us. We might dyno it someday, but there is not one close to us, and with no baseline on stock, tough to tell.
We did the TMIC first, and you could hear the air being sucked in. The CAI made it so now the turbo spooling is heard, and even the stock plastic BOV kicks off, garnering thumbs up by Honda Civic owners as we pass them. :)

thanks! Again, this is mainly my wife's car, and she has installed all the mods on it. But I am the guy who goes to Mazda forums all the time, and thought I would share my stuff with others.

Where did you get the CAI? Was it an easy install or did it require any kind of modification?

We got the CAI from Street Unit:
http://www.streetunit.com/CPE_XCel_Cold_Air_Intake_p/mmacx7i.htm?Click=125
It was a direct bolt on, easy install, no cutting, modifying, etc. In fact, my wife, who installed the intercooler, installed the CAI. All I did was jack up the driver's side and take off the wheel. The rest, she did. Pretty easy to do, just a matter of removing the ton of plastic, installing the CAI.

Does this affect any warranty?

there are the basics of putting in anything not from the dealer. The intake voids the air intake of the car. the aftermarket TMIC, which actually helps the engine run better, is also void. We are not worried about failure, as the parts have been thoroughly tested, and actually make the car perform better, because it can breathe and be more efficient. Could be why we get 22-24 mpg average. The Magnussen Moss Act (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnuson-Moss_Warranty_Act) is how we are protected by the dealer claiming the intake caused the brakes to fail due to the installation of aftermarket parts. Besides, if we ever have any problems, these are easy bolt ons to go back to stock to troubleshoot, and if they continue, we can just take the totally stock car back to the dealer.
Our local dealer service manager saw our engine last night, and loved it. he is into modifying his cars, and he will also going to be at the 12 hours of Sebring next week where our cars will be on display with Mazda North America.
