I just called the dealer and they said that they do not recommend using fuel injector cleaner in the CX-7. I have used it for many years a couple of times a year in all my vehicles and never any ill effects. Anybody have any opinions on this?

Thanks
Gary

Used it, kiled MPG for that tank, but went backup after a couple fill-ups. Why did they say not to do it?

I don't know what this has to do with anything, but he said "if you use premium fuel from a reputable gas station fuel injector cleaner was not needed". I don't think I believe that though.

That is a standard manufactures response to putting anything extra in the gas or oil. I presume from the manufactures experience that there are some additives that may be harmful or that some dummies think that if one can of cleaner is good, then 4 cans must be better. I use Technion system cleaner before my 6K oil change. I also use a 2C lub at 500:1 in my fuel. JMO. Ed

Well we just got back from vacation and I did use fuel injector cleaner with nary a problem. We could not even tell that it was in the fuel. The car ran fantastic as usual so very happy here!

Also, I changed the oil right before we left and no gas smell at all! The oil had about 6300 miles on it. I use 0W30 M1 and right before the last oil change I installed the Forge BPV with the blue spring. So hopefully the next part is a CP-E CAI.
