Mazda Accessory website has a front end cover or "bra" for $125.00, part number 0000-8G-M01. Probaby too early for any one else to be selling one.

I was getting on 183 over here in Austin, TX, and this truck dragging a trailer with a wooden tailgate dropped a rock the size of a golf ball, it was not round like a ball though. I saw it in slow motion bouncing right toward me. It bounced up and hit the hood of my new black CX7 GT and then bounced off of my hood and hit my sunroof. The sunroof was fine, but the hood has a very small chip in the paint. The paint is still in the new micro-crater in my hood. I will now start the process of ordering some touch-up paint, and exploer the best way to get this flaw in my new paint fixed. I am hoping to find a place that installs this 3M protectant film, and then get them to fix the chip in the paint before they install this film.
I called the delership and questioned the service guy about this 3M film, and they said that I would have to talk to the finace guy over there. I do remember turning that down in my extended warrenty. I will have to check with them to see how much they would charge to add it now.
Anyway, I think it is around $200-$400 to install this film on the entire front end and hood. I think they would try to just do half of the hood, but I think I would rather get the entire hood wrapped in this stuff.
I will investigate some prices and get back to you guys.

Did you ever find anything out or go forward? I'm not in your area obviously but am thinking about getting the 3M film applied to my car. I too turned it down when the dealer originally offered but now, a month later, I'm thinking of doing it.
Has anyone else had the product installed on this or other cars? I love how the front looks just as is, so I don't want to cover it with a visible bra. But I want protection against all the rocks we have on the road.
Also does anyone know what happens to this stuff after 5 years? Do you need to remove it or risk it yellowing or otherwise degrading?
Thanks for any advice.

Depends. I think the dealers offer two kinds of paint protection. One is some kind of polymer sealant that is applied all over the car and is, from what I've heard, generally overpriced. (You can wax or seal the car yourself with as good a product or better for far less than the many hundreds of dollars they ask.) The second offering is the 3M type product which is a clear film actually laid over the front parts of the car, most likely to get dinged. That too is pricey but I think is a good option, depending on your road conditions and tolerance for less than perfection.

Our CX-7 is Black-Cherry. I can only imagine what that will look like in a year...unprotected. I've started covering things up with the 3M ScotchCal stuff (xpel, invisiblemask, invicta, mostly all use 3M). I bought some bulk film, 6" wide, and did the rocker panels. They make a 12mil thick material for the lights. Got that done with no problems. The paint protector material is 8mil thick. I've got the fender caps done. I think I'm ready for the gigantic piece for the hood. It will cover back about halfway. I'll order the bumper cover next. Stuff is a bit tricky to put on absolutley perfectly. And it ain't cheap. Hood and fenders were near $190. Bumper is more! Scarey, don't want it to look bad...also don't want to ruin 100's of dollars of plastic! But I don't want stone chips either!!!!
I've had it on the nose and rocker panels of my '04 Miata for about 2 years. It does work as advertised! I hit a piece of wood or something like that on the rocker panel. Bent the panel but didn't break thru the plastic!

I have the Mazda mask on my car.
Fit is great
Well made
You do have to take it off when it rains or gets dirty to prevent paint damage which is not an issue to me.

Thanks for weighing in with the other option. I hope you don't mind a few questions:
1) How long does it take to put it on or take it off?
2) Have you had any paint damage or are you just avoiding it by taking it off when you should?
3) If you are on a roadtrip & it starts to rain, do you need to remove the bra to avoid damage?

Excuse my ignorance here. But coming from Scotland where nobody ever puts a "Bra" on there car. We do have bugs and they do take a bit of elbow grease to get off. Anyway I used to ride a sports bike and they seemed to attract more bugs than my car ever did not to mention the helmet. Anyway to the point turtle wax had a bug removal spray it was magic it got the most stubborn bugs off real easy. And I used it on my car. It never appeared to dull the paint. Clearly the front of the bike isn’t the front of a car but personally I can’t see the point in these things and think they look bad. This is just my personal opinion so please don’t be offended its just not my taste. This will not stop road chips but that just part of motoring...
