If anyone is having trouble trying to work out the conversions on the US forum threads (like me!), to see how their fuel economy rates compare to ours, here's a quick tip... try Google's conversions.

Simply type into your Google Toolbar, or a Google Search, something similar to:

17.2 mpg to l/100km

...and it'll be the very first result in the search. The same goes for the reverse if you want to post in the US threads... something like:

13.7 l/100km to mpg

I hope this helps!!! It has certainly come in handy for me, seeing as fuel economy has been such a hot topic throughout all of the threads!

Alternatively you can use the factor 235.2. Just divide this number by the figure in l/100km or mpg(US) to get the other measurement.

eg 10l/100km in US mpg is 235.2/10=23.5 mpg; 15 l/100km in mpg is 235.2/15=15.68 mpg.

Additionally the figure to use for converting imperial mpg to l/100km is 282.5

Our friends in the US will be using US gallons which is equal to 3.785 Litres.
