have you done the airbox resonator removal yet? that should help a bit, and also give you an idea of the extra noise you can expect

Yes did the airbox removal on the weekend, really didn't notice any difference at all.
Noise or "Power/Smoothness"

looked at mpsgarage, but don't want to spend $425 while the aussie dollar is in the toilet...

I found that removing the resonator part increased the noise slightly, but seemed to help responsiveness at the low end. Surprised me, as I expected gains (if any) to be at higher RPM.

I experimented with it on, then off, then back on again for a few weeks each time!

p.s. you might think about doing the exhaust mid-section...replacing it with straight through 3in pipe
