I just got an aftermarket remote starter for my 07 Gt AWD with nav, advanced key. It was from Crimestopper, and it works perfectly, installed for under $400

There have been people that have gotten the non-mazda remote start and it didn't work with the intelligent key.
Does the button on the outside of the door still unlock the car after you have remote started?

When the engine is running from the remote start, you need either the remote button to unlock the doors or the Mazda key inside the advanced key, the buttons are deactivated on the doors, when the vehicle is off the buttons work like normal. Also with the crimestopper remote starter when you turn the knob to actually drive the car and you put vehicle into drive the doors lock automatically and when you turn off he engine they all unlock .
I got the Mazda Dealer installed Remote start. Have the Advance Key system as well. I hit the remote start button 2 times quickly, horn chirps, doors lock, and it starts. Walk up to the car, hit the remote start button once and it locks/unlocks. I usually just hit the button on the door handle, as that is still usable with the remote start running.
Got the remote start when I purchased the car. Id rather have it than some aftermarket thing like crimestopper... because it is installed by mazda techs, they know what they are doing, therefore it will be installed correctly, and if i ever have any problems, they are easily able to fix it.
another nice feature is without it running, hold down the remote start button and it honks the horn 6 times to find the car... has more range than the keyless remote.
Wipers, heated seats, heat/ac, radio all run when remotely started. Hope this helps!
I highly recommend the OEM Mazda Remote Starter but don't buy it from the dealership because you'll get it much cheaper on eBay or other retailers plus the dealership will charge you a lot to have them installed. I was actually charged around $600 by the dealership to have them installed. I said no way so I found them cheap on eBay for around $230 and paid an expert installer $120 for install.
Another thing: the range of the OEM is superb. I remotely started the car which was on the other side of 2 buildings and it worked.
