View Full Version : Parking Sensors

I will be picking up my Galaxy Grey CX-7 Luxury on this Friday and I just can't wait!!!
I've enquired prices for parking sensors through Burg Design (www.burgdesign.com.au) and they have quoted me front & rear sensors colour coded, fitted and incl. of GST for $999.
Burg Design are fairly renowned and do a lot of dealership work however I find the price a bit steep. Has anybody else been able to get a better deal from Burg Design or elsewhere? Also if anyone has done it through Burg Design, are their quality and workmanship any good?
Thanks for all your help and I'll post some pics up as soon as I take delivery of my car. Thanks all!

One of my colleagues came from automotive industry. He said they dealt a lot with Burg Design and were not very happy.
In my opinion $999 for parking sensors is a ridiculous price. Prices on E-bay for unpainted sensors start as low as $30. Yesterday I also found a deal there from an Australian supplier at around $100 for colour coded to any colour.

I got rear sensors put on our second car (Renault) at Autobarn Moorabbin (with proximity display on the dash) installed and colour coded for $250. I reckon they did a good job.

hi hscher
my car came with front and rear sensors and reverse camera from burg design
direct through the dealer as an extra.
the sensors are really good in my opinion, i have an incicator light on the dash that tells you how close you get. The span of the sensor goes out to about 160 degrees. When i back out of my drive way if i get a bit close to the fence it will beep the first time with about a metre distance.
I think the sensors that burg supply would be alot better than the $30 ebay model as far as span goes and sensitivity can be adjusted at any time.
My reverse camera has the video image in the mirror itself, its not a clip on type like Slideit has. Very clear images in daylight and also in the dark. Also has a very wide viewing angle (can see car parked to the side of my car no problem).
When i took delivery of the car the camera was not working needed new camera so waited about 4 weeks but they made it up to me by letting me have anything from their stock for cost price.(went for sat nav for $400 less than their normal price).
All dealers use different places for sensors and cameras maybe you could call around an find out which dealers are having good feedback with their sensors and get the name of the the installers and call them direct.

Hey BB
I'm in the process of having mine swapped for another system. The one on offer has a 95deg view angle. Do you know what angle yours is?

Hey Radiant CX7,
Can you explain how does the images show up on the Mirror? Do you have to install a LCD screen somewhere? It would be great if you can attach a picture for us to see.

Hey CX DREAMER
There is a cable that attaches to the miror (hidden) it feeds throuhg the images like an "av cable" to your tv from your dvd player.
The mirror has a 2.5 inch screen built in to the glass.
Will try get a night time picture of the mirror for you with the images in there.
Cheers........BB

I think they go for about $899 plus install.
Are you in Melbourne?
