View Full Version : Audio Outputs
I'm trying to hunt down the specifications on the audio outputs on the CX-7 base model to install an AMP. Anyone have any information on this subject? Are there outputs on the stock system? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Wassup yall! I just picked up my cx-7 2 days ago, and gutted out the crap stock system. I didnt opt fot the Bose due to the fact that they are a odd system that run on there own impedence levels. To upgrade you dam near have to redoo everything. I love the car but would have liked to get the sun roof but you have to get the Bose system to get the roof...bla bla..so here are some pics! I had to keep the stock deck because there are alot of controles for other stuff back there, but in a month or so I am planning on a custom install that will utilize the stering controls and what not! Holla!:)

The stock deck seems to be working out. The only draw back is the EQ control, but the soundstream 4ch amp has enough functions to limit the suffering..LOL! If anyone is interested the 4 door speakers in the cx-7 are
6x8 speakers. I think 5x7 will fit also. I picked up 2 sets of pioneer 3 way speakers, when amped they really bring out some great sound!! I listen to everything from JIM JONES to DREAM THIEF, and the range is nice and crisp. You can spend alot of money on other brand speakers, but after all they are only 6x8 speakers and can only do so much. The sub is a T1 fosgate 12" and is powered by an orion 8002 amp...OLD SCHOOL BABY!!! :D

I was curious where you are getting your signal from for your amplifier. Does your stock head unit have built in outputs or did you use some sort of HI/LO convertor to get signal??

I'm trying to find out where to get a good signal to power up my amp. If anyone can help me out or has a wiring diagram of the bose systme it will be of great help. Thanks.

I managed to add my 2 12's. Still trying to make them sound a 100% perfect. I added base blockers on the doors, but i'm still trying to get the right amount of power to the subs.

I have still been un answered about where are you guys getting the signal from for your amplifier?????? do you use a hi/lo convertor box or do you just splice directly into the low signal going to the bose amps??????? thanks for your help!

i made an attempt of splittin to get a signal after the factory amp just to find out that it doesn't work quite well. Next thing i'm going to try is coming directly from the stereo. Ijust have to do a little try and error to find out exactly where to split from.

If you have the base model without the Bose, just use a LOC. There is a los of space behind the dash to work. I used one and worked well, but got tired because it doesn't play mp3, so I made my own dash kit and used my old kenwood excelon stereo, with some polk audio speakers, dB drive amps and dB drive sub.

Nice!
So, I'm assuming you're not interested in the cargo capacity. Not going to be carrying many suitcases or boxes, huh? :) If that's the case, why the CX-7?
