I went to see my CX7 today at the dealership and noticed it had the Bridgestone tyres ( Car made Feb 07 and arrived Aust March 07 ). The CX7 in the show room which is a month older has the Goodyear tyres... I'm confused.. Is one brand better than the other? i've noticed this topic come up before in the forum... Is there a reason different CX7's have different tyres??... also does anyone know the situation with the spare tyre, i thought the 07 makes had the proper spare tyre in it already.. I took it for a drive and there was a nasty smell coming into the car from the vents...

The car was pretty dirty so it was a little hard to think wow.. Anyway, should pick it up this week.

I picked up my CX7 today from the dealer and it has Goodyear Tyres fitted. The compliance is Feb 07. I think that both Goodyear and Bridgestne tyres are similar in quality and wear.

The car has done 42kms now and our car has that nasty smell as well. I guess it is the engine and parts starting to wear in. The smell has been noted by other owners as well but aparently the smell does disapear in time.

I have not checked the spare tyre as yet but will check it out tomorrow and let you know.
Cheers

From what I can tell the Luxury has Bridgestones fitted and the standard has Goodyears.

There's another thread asking this same question, its basically just random. There is no pattern to which car gets which. The goodyears get slightly better reviews but both are pretty mediocre. And there have been some reports of the goodyear's squealing in medium cornering before they've been broken in.
