From day one (Since 8th of October) my CD information does not show on the screen. I have tried new and old CDs but all I get is dotted lines on the screen where it should be displaying the Album, Artist and Track.
All plays fine and the digital elasped time shows and everything else works to include the Navigation.
Hope I have made the problem clear.
I have read the manual and punched every button to no avail.
HELP!!

After Dealer check.............
Dealer checked other CXz on the lot and the display was the same as mine, dotted lines. They claim that my CDz DO NOT have the information on them to be read and displayed. They cannot produce any CD that DOES display. Manual does not say "SOME WILL-SOME WON'T".........is just states that the information will be displayed.
HMMMmmm.
I know the CX-7 is new, BUT...................
Does ANYONE out there have the NAVI system and gets a CD to display the information on the screen??

I have a month old CX-7 GT with Navigation and my CDs do not display track information.
I thought my CDs were old but after I saw your post I inserted some newer ones which display track info. and in the CX-7 they did not display track info!!! I will have to call the dealer.
About weeks ago I had the Check Engine light on. The dealer had to replace the gas cap. What a hassle!
I wish I had bought something else.

Hi guys, the information displays with MP3 cd's just fine, i doubt very many music cd's will have a text compatible with the cd player.

It's primarily there for mp3 cd's.

If I see the three lines of information displayed with ANY CD I will accept that there is not a problem.
Otherwise I'm still seeking a soultion or DEFINED Justification.
As far as buying something else....................
Remember this is ALL new...........it's bound to have a bug or two.
Remember (I know you are too young, sorry) the problems that GM had with the Small Block Chevy Engine??
Look where it is today.

To display Artist/Track info you'll need CD-TEXT encoded CD's or MP3 CD's with ID3 Tags. I have a Sony 400CD stacker which will show all info off CD-TEXT encoded CD, so now I copy any CD's I buy & encode them with CD-TEXT (using Nero) .. not only do I get track info etc but if they get nicked out of the car, I still have the original ones :)
