English spelling versus American.
Grey is a colour and gray is a color. There are people from other countries besides the US on the site :)

Do the two colors have the same color code? I would assume so, but it'd be interesting if it was a slightly different shade.

You'll have to forgive me for not checking the locations before posting. I did state where I got my source for the spelling (mazdausa.com).
I do understand that there is a world beyond the US, however previous car forums I have belonged to have been 99.9% North American (US and Canada). So it is just something I'm not used to checking for.
However, regardless of your location I doubt anyone has a Galaxy GEY CX-7 (scroll up and look at the poll choice).

I got it in white, but I REALLY wanted blue. However, in Latin America, we have no blue love. The dealer told me that Mazda prioritizes the blue to other markets, in particular USA/Canada. *shakes fist* White is beautiful too, I love white, but ALL my cars are white, I thought it was time for a change. But nope, white all the way.

Strange phenomenon -- I keep getting compliments on the colour, followed by the inevitable question "what colour is that anyway?", while they're staring right at it! :) It's basically black mixed with red, but it changes colour like a mood ring depending on the light. It's definitely unique.

I really like the Galaxy grey but I kept dreaming about the Black Cherry. It's like owning a black car and purple car. My dealer has a ton of black ones and we actually walked right past my car because it looks black anytime but in the sun.
I love this car!

Black Cherry also!! I love the color just for that reason, I have had a few arguments with people who keep insisting my car is black!!! Although currently with all the salt you can't really tell what color it is!!! Almost impossible to keep clean!! Between the salt and dirt mixture they use on the roads here, this time of year you spend more time washing than you do driving!!!

:cool:The Icy Blue is simply wonderful. It hides the dirt well if I haven't had a chance to wash it yet, and since there is only one other in my area it's a definite head turner. The sight of a red head in a blue car, dunno what it is, but I've gotten quite a few remarks. Unfortunately not all are family friendly so I'll stop now.:cool:

Yeah, it does hide the dirt exceptionally well.
Also what I've noticed, Mazda fleets out the CX's only in white, I don't know why but all of them are white, I haven't seen not one that wasn't. There might be some that we're bought on the side and used as fleets with different colors though.

If I got to repick the color of my 7, I'd go with black.. White looks gorgeous but I think black would get rid of the intense contrast that white has with the trim all around the car. I'm honestly torn between the two. Plus it's the 'cool' color (not that white isn't, of course, but still not as much)
I'm in my 20s though, which probably explains my bias :D Perhaps when I get older I'd favor a nice shade of grey, to match my hair and all :P
My last vehicle was black... It was the definitely the hottest color (IMO) when clean, but it's extremely hard to keep it that way.... All dust shows! I've tried paying attention to black cars on the road... and it always seems to me that majority of them need a wash...
I was tempted to get black (instead of Copper Red) when I got mine.
But I didn't like the 'flatness' of the CX7's black paint. If it was mica or metallic I would have gone with it.
Also, the cleaning and the heat issues put me off!
But it does seem to be the most popular colour downunder.... where the cleaning and heat issues are really major!

My morning routine includes california duster + ice detailer while warming up the engine now but nothing looks better to me than a shiny black car.
(also got a black and tan thing going on with the leather inside to match one of my favorite drinks(meals?) - a black & tan.
*close second was the black cherry, but the dealer wanted too much and i think it may have been a fad color with me...or maybe i have color envy?

While I agree that a clean black car with no scratches/dents is awesome.
I do not dread the fact it looks dirty faster than any other color
It cannot be washed in hot sunny days in direct sun light when you have hard water. Water spots/Soap spots are a pain to get off.
It is very hot on hot sunny days.
My 3 previous cars were all black.

^^so true...the morning water sprinklers outside my apt got me at 6am today.. the side of my ride looks like a black leopard..
I tailored it back to wash/weekend, wax/month schedule and got a car cover (like a high maintenance chick, takes a lot to get her looking right but when she's does nothing better)

I liked the old electric blue over the new stormy blue. They also got rid of the icy blue, and looks like the galaxy grey too
Liquid Platinum Metalic here. Not that I had a lot of choice, my 5 had 120k kilometers on the clock, time to change the motor belt etc and I didn't want to do the costs (and I got a nice price for my 5). My dealer had ordered one in this colour and I decided to get it instead of having to wait another couple of months for another colour. And I must say that I don't regret it, the CX-7 looks amazing in that colour :cool:

Well, I had talked to my dealer before (just before the CX-7 facelift) and now he gave me a better price for my Mazda 5, probably the best I was ever going to get so I decided to switch over to the CX-7 ;)
The belt history was helping me to convince my wife ;)
