We just put a down payment on one last weekend - will pick up next weekend. AWD, navi, every option under the sun etc. It has 200km on it as it was used, but who cares. Got it for $38,500. No freight or pdi. Hope that is a good deal??

hello! I do not know my deal is a good deal or not. GT+AWD($37,195.00)+Luxury Package($1000.00)+Trailer Hitch $360.09+ PDI
I was able to ask 3560.00 off the total price. It is also new built in (2007/4) and marke 2007 model, I also found out the car built in (2007/May) Canada Mazda put it to 2008 model. I am confused what does it mean 2007, and 2008 model.

IMO, that's on the high side for Canada. It should be lower. but is that the 2008 model you're getting quoted? 2008 prices went up substantially. But I think you can do better.

It is 2007 model. Sound like you had a better dealer than what I got. Gee! Of course I wanted to get a more discount. May I ask you How much did you get for yours. Thanks...
Ps. I think 2008 is only $100 more.

I was judging on the Mazda MSRP, which is around $35,500 CAD in Canada. You definitely should be getting a better deal.
{edit} I did some digging. It turns out the MSRP for the GT AWD 2007 Model is $37,195 CAD. My bad. From what I read of Canadian CX-7 reviews, it was supposed to be $35,000 MSRP. But I checked the Build and Price site on Mazda Canada's website and it came down to $37,195. :(
Currently, I'm not living in Canada. I'll be back in the great true north in a few years. (but I do not miss winter driving :P)
After some wheeling and dealing, these are the prices I was offered down here in Panama.
CX-7 Sport FWD 2007 - $31,000 USD
CX-7 GT AWD 2007 - $35,000 USD
CX-7 Sport FWD 2008 - $33,500 USD**
CX-7 GT AWD 2008 - $38,000 USD**
For the 2008 models, they wouldn't arrive for another 2 months, being impatient AND wanting to save some money, I got the 2007 GT model.

Hey Eric, you definitely got a VERY good deal. I'm betting you probably got a better deal than most Canadians, including myself.

We have narrowed it down to Murano versus the CX7...
I am looking to buy a 08 cx7 GT awd fully loaded or ...compared to the 07 Murano SE
I would appreciate any input to sway one way or another or comments. The one thing that I can't but help worry is the dealer
We love the look and driver on the car but salesmen was a idiot... We won't buy off him but are sold on the car for now> here was our test drive thoughts
1. he made me carry a baby carrier around the whole lot and through office versus pulling car around to the front.
2. the car I test drove was still in plastic with inside wheel covering as well .. I asked about off gassing with a newborn after a short drive with plastic burning smell becoming overpowering and he told me not to worry.. Yeah thanks buddy
3.I spoke to manager about this and he seemed more concerned with sale talking about service...No apology
Talking Sticker Price with Dealer Sales he said approx 37500 but then started to say about freight PDI etc.. I told him to give me the best price all included and he looked at me blank.. I said good 37500 then... These are all Canadian plus our wonderful taxes
Anyhow is this a good deal.. I heard Mazda was customer focussed but am a little leery...
I will be honest and say that I have driven two Nissan's as my car but am nervous buying a Murano with last years Model and new model being introduced in late 08.. Murano is quoting me 40 k for fully loaded..
I don't think it is worth the bother dealing with states/can changes odometerheadlights and of course warranty.. This will be the wife's car and want it as worry free..
I have heard some rumblings on the turbo lag and interior noise and cheap carpeting... Any other things that I should consider or issues as well if anyone has insights on Canadian pricing
Any thoughts or stories to help me

Whereabouts in Canada are you at? If you are in Edmonton, I recommend Jayman Mazda on 97 St. and Yellowhead Trail. If I am not mistaken, they almost always win customer service awards every year.
The 08 CX7 should have most of the serious bugs ironed out. The 08 Murano is not that different from the previous Murano.. even though it has a new platform (based on new Sentra platform), it retains the same engine and I think the same CVT transmission. Personally, I would give the Murano a slight edge in the baby department. The suspension is softer and pliable for a baby and has a more refined ride and feel, but that is debatable if it is better for babies. I had 2 babies 2yrs and 3 yrs in my CX-7 yesterday as I hooned it around town and in the mountains. And I went over really rought roads, not once did the babies complain, in fact, they were liking it (seriously). Future Zoom-zoomers!

Hi Guys,
I want to buy the cx-7 (thanks to this forum) I was kindda septical because of the pricing here in montreal (around $40000 for a 2008 AWD with tech package) and I was wondering what is the best price that I could get.
I was thinking to get it in the us but the no warranty issue scares me a bit.
Do I get coverage from a us dealership in vermont if I buy it in the states and register it in canada?
I had also a question concerning parking. Do you think that I can leave it outside since I don't have a parking in my appartement, and I'll leave it in the street.
I got a (what i think is) a nice deal on a demo with 10000 Km @ mazda dealership and I was wondering if any of you guys baught a demo and if it's a good idea or not. $39000 with winter tires and remote starter for a 2008 AWD GT with the nav system. (not including taxes)
thanks for your advice

Wow. The prices seem exuberant considering the strength of the Loonie.

the stength of the loonie?
English is my second language... need some explanation :)
Apparently the car was driven by the owner of the dealership. I don't know if this is a good, or bad thing...

Well younescito, you can get a GT FWD w/ Moonroof and Bose here, for 21,XXX before TTL, and save a LOT, and the warranty will still be valid in the US, you just need to find a seller willing to sell to a canuck, and you need to be willing to go through the process to save a 10K or 20.

Well, Going to the US to get service can be a hastle, especially if I need to leave my car there for repair.
The process of making it a canadian lady doesn't scare me that much cauz I will probably do it with a broker. I checked the prices, and they are not asking that much.
The price really brings me into getting one from the US but the Canadian 0% financing for 60 months is really attractive, especially if I want to get an aftermarket integrated nav system :D
Well I am giving myself couple weeks into finding the best deal possible. I ll keep you posted on the prices if I find anything interested.
Is buying a demo a bad idea?
Thanks

What do you guys think about my price? 2008 CX-7 AWD GT + 6 Disc CD MP3 Changer + Wheel Locks on the road with licence plate, registration, all the taxes and everything else for $42100. I'm from toronto, so the taxes here are 13%

Did you get the Navigation package? If so, that seems like a pretty damn good price. I picked up my AWD GT w/ Bose 6 CD changer w/o MP3, Wheel locks, Security etching for the windows, Auto-dimming rear view mirror w/ Homelink for 41,200. Thats before GST and some other taxes. This is in Alberta. Whether that's a good deal or not, I tried to get better but wasn't able to here.

unfortunately, i didn't get the navigation package. that's the price on the road with everything included. it's just the GT model with 6 disc changer + mp3 and wheel locks. the manager told me not to get the navigation to save money and trouble later down the road. since navigation system integrates all the climate controls and other controls into itself, if something do go wrong later, it'll cost you big bucks. i bought the clarion nice 430 for $50 from black market.

So today I went for a test drive and I saw what you spoke about. The engine is slow to respond until 2K RPM and then it pulls you easily... that felt strange! I told the seller about the flash but he didn't know. That's a 2008 so I thought this would be corrected. The handling is really sharp! It's also stiff but not uncomfortable... I think that after a while the shocks get smoothier. I told him about the gas consumption and he told me that depends a lot on your driving but yes it's not a CRV! I checked for a GS AWD with fogs and engine heater for 527$ a month on 84 months all taxes included (CAD) I still don't know what to do. This would be my car, second one actually since we have an Odyssey. We have two kids and a third one will be waiting for us in Vietnam soon. Means I can have all kids with me so takes something not too small. I have to go around a lot so a vehicle like that would be interesthing but that's a lot of money for a second vehicle!
