Does anyone think if these Bose replacement speakers for the Miata will work in the CX7?

I'm not sure but I think the cx-7 uses 61/2" speakers.
Also you need to buy 2 sets. For $600 you can buy top of the line Alpine, JL, or Pioneer.

Off the shelf speakers will not work in the Bose system. Different impedance. The Bose system uses 8" front door woofers. Hence my interest in the 8" Clearwater woofers.

I didn't realize it before, but the speakers are 8 inch MIDRANGE speakers.
The reason nobody else makes 8" speakers are because its widely known that the best midrange response is between 4"-6" with 5 1/4" probably being the most ideal. If you think your bose system sounds bad its because of the lack of midrange, probably the most important aspect in a speaker system.
If you buy replacements, they might sound slightly better, but you can't defy physics.

Wow, i really am amazed at how bose can be this bad.

The 8 in front door speakers in the Bose system are NOT midrange speakers. They are subwoofers. "Baconeggs" you must not have the Bose system...

I'm positive I don't have the bose system because I would never pay for overpriced and underperforming bose.

What confused me was that the link you posted is replacing the tweeter and the subs only. Typically the tweeter and the midrange are matched pairs, it wouldn't make sense to just replace one. I probably misread mid-bass as midrange

For someone who's been involved in car audio for over a decade, I beg to differ on the Bose system underperforming. I think it performs precisely how they wanted it. The bass response is good and the overall clarity of the system is very good. It is not designed to be a pounding system or audiophile quality SQ system. It's designed to try and bring the best of both worlds so the everyday user is very satisfied with the clarity and bass they get out of their stock stereo. Of course you can do better via the aftermarket but if you couldn't they wouldn't exist.
