Is there a way to update the Nav system DVDs? Or can we expect regular updates as communities get built and added? My 2 year old community shows me in the middle of a field when I pull through the gates.:)

Hi Allen,

The Nav system uses DVD's from Navteq. I'd expect (well hope actually! lol) that they'd release upgrade DVD's at least annually. I bet they cost though :( I know Acura Nav DVD's are about $150'ish.

Hey Allen, you must be my next door neighbor in the field. Not only do I live in a field even though my street has been here almost three years, my place of work has a thirteen year old street that is non-existent.

If you go to Navteq, they don't show the CX7 as one they support, after talking to Mazda Customer support (twice) and Navteq about this problem, it seems the denial solution was the only info I could find. As the Navteq support quoted "we don't show that we support the CX7, the protocol would be to ask the service/parts manager who supports the software for the CX7 Nav) It's a vicious circle.

I hope someone comes forth, I do a lot of traveling to large cities in the Midwest and am tired of doing circles around them to get to my destination.

I hope we find something out soon.

this is the response I received from Navteq:

Thank you for contacting NAVTEQ. While Mazda uses our map data we neither produce nor distribute the disks for the CX-7. Please contact your nearest authorized Mazda dealer or call Mazda direct at 1-800-222-5500.

I'm not sure who we can count on to inform us of updates.

My dealer told me when updated become availible that they install them free of charge.
I hope this is true.

I wonder if the update is unit specific, and not by car make and model. Just thinking out loud.

If Navteq is charging $200 for these updates I find it hard to believe they will come free from the dealer.

But I really really hope I'm wrong and your dealer is right.

I bought Tom Tom and my office has been up for 20 years and its still not on the map. I have found myself on the green stuff a few times. Thats where the personal POI come in handy. Tom Tom have a members site where you login and given them the details of the street and they say they will update it. My last map update cost $6:50 and that give me North America and Europe.

Is it possible to login to Navteq or are they just bouncing you back at Mazda?

Seems like a poor show really  its not a cheap option...
