The dreaded "Gas Cap" issue hit after 90 miles and 2 days with my new CX-7. Went to the dealer and he said the guy who filled it up for me didn't close the cap all the way.

I am hoping that this isn't going to be an ongoing issue.

Other then that, I really like the vehicle.

Mazda has redesined a new style gas cap for the car...... I am having one ordered for me at my local dealership...... I think you can tell if you have the new gas cap if it has a white dot on the top of it. If you dont have it I would recommend going to your dealership and asking for one...... hopefully this will cure the problem

I had problems with my gas cap 1 month after I purchased my car. I visited the dealer approx. 10+ times w/i a two mth period for this and other things (nothing major). I had it replaced two days ago. When I got in my car tonight, it jurked hard with some steam coming out of the window. Now my engine light is on again. Go figure. I love everything else about the car but I hate seeing the engine light come on. Back to the dealer.

I put down my deposit for the car on Tuesday and had them write on the receipt that I want the new gas cap BEFORE I take delivery on the car. I suggest anyone buying the CX-7 do the same.

I plan on letting them know that I do not plan to take any bs in the service area of owning this car. And i'm going to explain that up front to both my salesperson and service rep, that I expect nothing less than to have my issues addressed without any other bs.

Cause thats all i've ever received in the past with other cars, making me feel like I shouldn't have ever gone to that dealer in general.

When mine turned on at 1,600 miles, they took care of me real quick.
