Not yet. It needs an adapter he was not expecting it to need. It works for Speed6 though.

Here is a video of a Speed6 with the turbosmart.

I am checking to see if he was running recirc or VTA.

update, running in hybrid. Recirc with VTA for large spikes.

I thought you can do both VTA and recir.

Raider

yup, with the Turbosmart, you can run it in hybrid.

"The TurboSmart Dual Port Blow Off Valve is three BOVs in one. The Dual Port can be configured to vent to the atmosphere (VTA), recirculate into the air intake or BOTH! This blow off valve is also adjustable allowing you to tune the BOV to meet the needs of your car. This is done simply by a turn of the hand. No tools are required to adjust the stiffness of the blow off valve. The recommended setup for TurboSmart Blow Off Valve kit on the Mazda CX-7 is the Dual Port option. Using the Dual Port setup, the BOV will recirculate under low boost driving. During high boost situations, the BOV will VTA and recirculate into the intake."

Is there any clearance issue? Since this is much taller then the HKS.

Fits the speed6 fine, it is not out yet for CX-7.

installed for testing last night. Had to trim the cover, but it fits, and sounds amazing! Doing field tests as we calibrate it for driveability testing. You guys will love this thing!

Will do. Dialed in 99%. With my wife driving it, I need to get time to play with it. Seems to be dialed in though, and sounds amazing.

We also installed the 5 ply intercooler hoses from Street Unit as well. There is a real difference in the feel of the hoses, a lot sturdier. Not a power gain, really, but look great, and help lessen expansion at boost.

Raider you've got us on the edge of our seats here! got any pix, better yet, video clips??? i just put the CAI on mine last sunday and i'm lovin the sound!!! the 9 speaker bose system is just collecting dust cuz i'm gettin my earful with the intake! i got the ETS, BOV, and the hoses on order; mike says everything's out of stock and will ship asap. can't w8!

just 2day i was driving home from work, and the CAI was doing it's job as i rounded the corner in a small german town here. this dude outside, tweakin' his sick mod'd VW, looked up 2 c where the sound came from. the look on his face was priceless when he realized it was comming from the CX-7:eek: , my grocery getting, family hauling, but oh so stylish CX-7!!:D

once that BOV comes in, with a little bit of VTA i'm sure it'll really start turning some heads! Keep us posted!

Raider

No update, I have been swamped myself, and SU is awaiting delivery of the product to fulfill all the pre-orders. Looking at early next week. Let me check with SU, and if approved, pics and video will be posted.

As for how it works, we love it! I might get a chance in a few weeks to see about an MS3 hood ductwork conversion to the CX-7, see if it works. Means no more fugly engine cover!

Since the Mazdaspeed BOV flange is the same as the 1st gen DSM flange, I would think that you could order the Turbosmart dual port BOV and DSM mounting kit. Seems like that would work on the CX7 great.

Raider
07-02-2007, 10:57 AM
There was a reason for a specific flange to be made for CX-7 and Speed3. I cannot remember, clearance was an issue I think. Either way, the TS from SU comes with the flange anyway.

OK, here we go, I got approval. Keep in mind I did go ape**** on trimming, and it can actually be less. With my semi-operational Dremel (no 1s, 4th, 5th speeds) and a drill bit, I trimmed it out. You can trim less than me, but yes, trimming is This is actually the BOV for my speed. Hers is a blue over silver, which arrived at SU today. 1500 miles, no CEL.

So, here (http://s156.photobucket.com/albums/t34/raiderms3/BOV/?action=view&current=TSBOV.flv)is a little video.

Here are pics!

Here (http://s156.photobucket.com/albums/t34/raiderms3/BOV/?action=view&current=MVI_0736.flv)is a 23 MB very high res video. We fixed the cover moving issue. Boy, I need new videos...

I had to trim the cover for my TurboXS BOV like 4 times. The engine moves under the cover. So you have to notch the cover a lot more than you think when the motor is stationary. Of course the TXS BOV does not require nearly as much trimming. Nice pics Raider!

Raider, good video. Funny how the cover moves with the blow off.

Raider
07-02-2007, 11:26 PM
Thanks! BTW, the motor mount I have been talking about getting made...it will cut engine movement 95% (my guesstimate) SO YES, we need it made. Meh.

What is so amazing is the VTA is not a whole lot. There was insulation above the BOV we had to trim away because it was acting like a parachute and moving the cover.

In other news, the BOVs are in stock and shipping!!

Raider, awsome pics and video! now i'm really pumped! can't wait, i wanna go out and trim my cover right now, but of course i will wait 4 the bov! got an e-mail back from mike, looks like the ets's r backordered due 2 ets not being able 2 get the 12x14 cores. mike says a 12x12 is available with 1" bigger tanks on either side. i asked him what effect that has on the cooling ability?? your thoughts? btw, those blue hoses are hot, lookin 4ward 2 installing those babies 2. so what's next for you?,.....exhaust?:D

Raider

I am stubborn. I am also on the list for ETS TMIC, and will just wait for it. I want what has been proven to work. That said, the one they are offering is probably is just as good. It is up to you.

As for the next mods, we have a big one, which I will post up next week. It is on the DL right now.

The hoses are pretty much one of the best things we did. Comparing the two, I can see why Street Unit made them.
