I saw the CX-7 at the Paris Auto Show in October and learned only that it would be for sale in France "sometime in '07".

Set to launch in the UK later this year, the Mazda CX-7 is the ideal choice for today's urban lifestyle.

That too maybe. But for starters The Europe will have to stickshift the CX7
because autotranny is not available!

I wanted a manual but its not an option over here. Given how quickly the engine moves through the gears I'm not sure I could have kept up on my commute lol. Is it five or six speed?

I dont know but i bet its a 6speed - similar to the one that MS6 has here.

BTW: do you guys know what kind of price the russian dealers will ask for loaded CX7 - like 56 - 60 grand

Just see this one -> MAZDA CX7 for sale (http://www.cars.ru/find/marka/Mazda/CX-7/)

Looks like the CX-7 is arriving in Europe on the 1st of September. Well, arriving in the UK at least. Check out www.newmazdacx-7.com

Also ... the Euro version has a 6 speed manual with 260hp, rather than the 6 speed auto with 237hp seen in the US, Australia and New Zealand.

Hopefully the manual tranny and stronger engine get released worldwide.

though its not due to hit dealers until sept, us americans that get them shipped here have just added one to the 3 that are the first to touch eropean soil,...mine! just picked it up from the port in bremmerhaven today!!!:D boy did i get some looks on the autobahn! even tooled around with a rx for a little bit,...i don't think he was ready to get beat by an arch rival that costs thousands less;) well so much to talk about, but very tired from the long drive and train ride the night before. i'll post more + pix another day! one last thing, the awd + tcs + dsc was absolutely outstanding on the rainy drive back. 100mph in the rain with no issues!

Checking online, it looks like they'll start selling on Sept. 1st in Switzerland as well. For just about 10 grand more than what we pay in the US
BUT they'll get a 6-speed stick and the parking brake in a normal place (between driver and passenger), plus blinkers next to the fog lights and in the rearview mirrors...
