So this whole debacle about Toyota quality and safety issues... well, looks like the data points at the driver as the problem. That pedal fix Toyota issues? a solution for a problem that didn't exist.

From the WSJ:

The U.S. Department of Transportation has analyzed dozens of data recorders from Toyota Motor (http://online.wsj.com/public/quotes/main.html?type=djn&symbol=7203) Corp. vehicles involved in accidents blamed on sudden acceleration and found that at the time of the crashes, throttles were wide open and the brakes were not engaged, people familiar with the findings said.Source: http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748703834604575364871534435744.html?m od=WSJ_auto_IndustryCollection

Actually that is pretty much what I always thought other than morons with their mats pushed up on their gas pedals which again is their own fault.

Doesn't help when someone panics and all they do is randomly mash a pedal. And when the mash the wrong pedal, disaster occurs.
