:( Hello

I am new to the forum and have just clocked over 1400 km on my new CX-7. I noticied that when I turn on the air vents that it is hot air coming out. The outside air is about 10 degrees and the incoming air feels like 70 degrees. I have tried all combinations to see what the deal is with no luck.

Anyone out there experience the same issue ??

I would take it into the dealer, it might just need a recharge on the refridgerant.

Thank-you for your reply.....the AC is working fine....it is only the outside vents..it should be bringing in cool air from outside, but it is warm air.

Maybe someone else has experienced similiar issue......

I'm just parroting what I've read in other threads, but somebody else mentioned that the air intake goes right around the engine, heating up air traveling through the ventilation system. I don't know if that's the right answer, but it does explain the problem.

I wanted to resurect this thread cause I've been having the same problem. When I start out in the AM the car is fine. After driving for about 20 minutes and stopping then restarting the air vents blow hot air. The outside temp can be downright fridged and the air vents blow hot. Usually, I blow the AC for a few minutes and then the problem is somewhat fixed but it gradually will heat up again. Pain in the arse!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anybody else have any insight.

The AC will cut down on compressor use when idling, but when moving, it will kick in again. The original problem with this thread was with the fresh air, not the AC.

Right, my problem is with the fresh air coming in hot when it's cold outside. I'm only mentioning that I use the AC to cool down the air. The AC works fine, the fresh vent air is where the problem is.

Turn auto climate on, turn down to 15c then turn system off, then it will work fine, works fo me good luck!

I do not think we ever used just fresh air without the AC. When it is nice, the windows go down and the sunroof opens. I think the problem is the heat from the engine is affecting the fresh air inlets. A/C on will fix the problem. Does not hurt MPG enough to really make a difference on these case.

hi all
was there ever a 'factory' solution to this problem?

I have the same problem...
I can attribute the problem to no insulation on the inlet ducting which is exposed to the engine compartment.
When you stop for a period of time after warmup, the heat build up in the engine bay goes way up and transfers to the cowling air inlet duct.
it's not that hot air is getting into the duct. It's that the duct is heating the air. The AC will compensate however, it takes time at speed to cool the inlet duct to a nominal tempreature.
I hope enough people complain to Mazda so that maybe they will retrofit a heatshield to the firewall.

Cheers!!
