Guys I pre-paid a camping trip 3 months ago, and I will be pulling a pop up camper less than 2000lbs , but because I have been busy with work etc I forgot that my CX7 doesn't have the hitch installed and the camping is in 2 weeks.

Were can I find the OEM Hitch kit online cheap.

Thanks

Go to a Mazda Dealer they are the only ones with the MAZDA hitch.

There is an option for electrical and another w/o electrical wiring.

I had mine installed as part of my sale so I did not have to do what you are having to do.

Mine has the power seat and the electrical hitch connections so don't let them tell you these are mutually exclusive.

There is a bunch of people that have done it themselves with aftermarket hitches. There are write ups here or on the www.mazdas247.com forum (i read both and don't recall where I saw them.)

The aftermarket ones were quite a bit cheaper too IIRC. Do a search for hitch, you should find them.

If you want OEM, the folks at StreetUnit can get all OEM parts! 321-296-0777

AWmustang is correct.

But as he asked about a OEM Mazda hitch and the dealer is the only one around here who has them. The after market ones are cheaper but most require welding.

Good info Raider about the other source of stock parts.

Just get a 2" receiver Hidden Hitch. Cheaper than the OEM hitch and no bumper cover cutting (which the OEM hitch requires). The OEM hitch is also only 1.25". If you have a power drivers seat, then you are prewired for a 4 pin pigtail. Just get the Hidden Hitch/Draw Tite OEM harness adapter. It plugs right into the socket at the passenger taillight. I store the pigtail by the spare tire. You can just let it hang out the hatch when you actually need it.

The aftermarket hitches do not require welding. They are purely bolt on. Don't get a Valley hitch though (see my review). Get either Hidden Hitch or Draw Tite (both are the same since they are the same company).

Yes that is correct and OEM and cheap are usually exclusive terms :D

He also said quick and just going to the dealer that day might be the quickest way if time was critical

Some are boltt on as is the factory hitch, but many aftermarket hitches are welded on. Many shops have standard hitches that they fabricate mounts for any vehicle that comes in. My buddies Muffler shop welds on dozens each month...

I would prefer the bolt on so they could put it on themselves.. Though most never remove them so that part is not an issue normally with a welded hitch.

The dealer is quick only if the hitch in stock. A lot of online hitch vendors, will ship out a hitch in a few days depending on location.
